I've Missed this

The site has been down for a while, and we lost some information off of it. But all will be added back in due time.

It has been a while sense I even got on here. Ironclad has become very busy in the last few months, but I would like to point out one thing that hasn't changed: We are still hated by the martial arts community. They still say we are wrong and don't know what we are talking about. We are still getting threats, but we are not getting challengers for some reason.

Our open challenges have gone unanswered since October, but almost daily I hear that I'm gonna get my a$$ kicked.

So to the entire Community: Either put up, or shut up!!!

How Dangerous is the world?

How dangerous is the world we live in? Is it really full of criminals ready and waiting to do god knows what to you?

To be honest, I highly doubt it.

I have heard all kinds of studies: some that say 3 of 5 people will be victims of a violent crime and even that Iraq is safer than downtown areas of the U.S.

Just watch where this information comes from. It usually comes from sites selling self defense products.

Self defense is important, don't get me wrong, but it isn't something that you have to have to be able to walk down the streets. I do believe that you should learn some self defense, but don't spend a lifetime doing it.

The truth is: The world is not full of killers at every corner stalking you. Sure crime rates have risen over the last 30years, but so has the population. crime rates to population percentages have not changed very much. Meaning, you are just as likely to be a victim today as you were 30 years ago.

Open Challenge

One of my fighters has made an open challenge. It is to anyone that wants to put their system up against his reality based system.

You and him will take fighters of equal skill and size, and take 10 minutes to prep them for the fight. however much you can teach in 10 minutes will decide whether you win or not.

The rules for the fight will be NHB. groin shots, eye gouges, bites, and headbutts are illegal. Submission, knockout, and 5 seconds unanswered(If one guy is pounding on the other for 5 sec without them doing anything) results in a win.

MMA vs RBSD

Happy Halloween to everyone catching this. The topic of MMA and Reality based self defense (RBSD) is a major one. These two groups have had a feud sense the first time rules were thrown into a fight. Well, a little while back, I saw an article saying something like MMA being more reality based than RBSD. So I think I should add my two cents to this. But first, I just want to explain that this is not just one article. No, most of the combat sports world tries to pass this off.

Their first point is usually something like: "RBSDers don't spar they just practice situations, but mma is full contact." Ok, I can't make this argument for all reality based systems, but for everyone that I have ever seen, situational techniques are to better their skill. The full contact sparring is used to test skill against others, and sparring is used more than situational training. In short: They need to research better before making dumb points. My fighters, in particular, go farther than sparring: they either tire themselves out by running or lifting weights before sparring, or they throw weighted gear on to spar with. Then, they spar in every condition: on uneven ground, in mud, in water, in gravel, even in wooded areas.

I like this one: "RBSDers are armed to the teeth due to their fear of actual hand to hand combat." Let's ignore the fact that they just eleminated mma from being reality based for a minute. We practice hand to hand more than anything, then on to empty hand vs weapons. Back to them eliminating themselves: I took that to mean that they do not train weapons (attack or Defense). Tell me you do practice fighting multiple opponenets? Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that mma fighters never have weapons pulled on them or have todeal with more than one opponent at a time. That doesn't happen in their reality.

I even saw something saying that RBSDers are scared of black poople. Now, I am not even touching that. But here is my argument to these mma fighters: Do you train weapons? Do you train multiple opponents? Do you train no rules? (and before you try to say that you do not have to train eye gouges and bites-I will leave a challenge for you at the bottom of this post). Do you fight out of your weight class? Do you even train sneak attacks? And last, Do you train kills? If you can answer yes to these questions, then I will happily call your training reality based.

Reality based systems are the only reality based systems. MMA bouts will always be training for RBSD.

And the challenge: If you believe that you do not need to train dirty tactics, by all means: come try get an eye gouge on me. Then, I will get one on you: at the end, we will see who is hurt worse.
